I began to learn hand engraving at age 14 in Kiev, Ukraine. My brother, Arkady Pugachevsky — an internationally well-known engraver and printmaker-taught me intaglio and relief engraving. I became a full time hand engraver for several major companies, always learning and perfecting my skills.
In 1991 I moved to New York City and opened Alex Engraving, Inc.
My specialty is jewelry engraving:engagement/wedding rings, family crests, bracelets, cuff-links, watches etc. My use of microscope allows me to do very intricate and detailed designs.
Every hand engraving creates unique, one of a kind piece.
